Re: Superficial much?
I recently took part in a presentation to a group of advertising agency 20- and 30-somethings. I wore a sports jacket and slacks, but no tie -- and still felt like an old man amid the folks wearing jeans and T-shirts. Every situation is different. Sometimes it pays to dress down a bit.
This is all a little silly. While you'll want to fit in with others when you have the job, I can't see the harm in dressing to impress when you're interviewing. If you look good, you feel good, and that'll boost your confidence. I'd much rather be over-dressed than under-dressed.
