Kristin,

"Both iPhone and Android users are fairly married to their choice, it seems"

Yes, I think so, too. This is especially true if you are happy with whichever your choice is. If I am happy with the iOS ecosystem and the hardware there is no reason why I should even think of migrating to Android, or anything else.

I believe this is the same for Android users.

Re: Make switching easy
It's sad that it has taken so long to get a phone company to put out a product like this.  I have used many third party apps to push my contacts, calendar, etc out to the web then pull them back down when swapping devices.  A couple of the carriers have OK software packages that can do this but moving between carriers makes those apps useless.

Re: Make switching easy
Having recently swapped from iPhones to the LG G2 i am amazed how difficult pulling things like contacts across was. Using Media Monkey images and music are easy... but without mass duplication contacts are a nightmare. Does this work with other phones (FYI the Sony one doesnt)

Make switching easy
Both iPhone and Android users are fairly married to their choice, it seems. It's hard not to be when you're sucked into the whole app environment. But for users who are fed up with whichever device they have, this seems like a fairly painless way to make a switch.
