Mobile promise and benefit
This technology should dovetail nicely with the computerized medical record systems that are starting to be used. Not only will this online, real-time information be generated, but it will be available to all a patient's healthcare providers. My Primary once told me he thinks most people's blood pressures are actually less than what's measured in the office, because of stress. If the BP can be monitored over the patient's full day, it will doubtlessly be a more valuable measurement.

Mommy and Me
When I was pregnant and just after having my daughter marked the longest relationship I had with a hospital. I'd think new parents are a great opportunity for hospitals to extend into homes; they have lots of questions, often require ongoing help, and may need follow-up treatment at the hospital. New moms may want to lose weight safely and exercise. Babies need frequent care.

Quitting Programs
What other ways can hospitals extend care beyond their four walls? I know a lot of hospitals offer smoking cessation programs and there are several apps for that. Perhaps a hospital could co-brand an app, and encourage and remind people who are quitting smoking (or drinking or drugs) about the reasons for cold turkey, the health benefits, etc., after patients have left a class or rehab.
