Microsoft Shares More Code



Microsoft last week expanded its shared-source program for Windows CE, giving device manufacturers and others permission for the first time to commercialize development work they do to its source code and making all of the operating system available for that purpose. Until now, Microsoft has allowed third parties only to view, debug, modify, and distribute Windows CE, and only about 45% of Windows CE code was available to them.
