The vendor is revamping its home page and has a preview available. Firefox users, however, are redirected to Microsoft's generic "page not found" message and screen.

The preview of Microsoft's revamped home page at microsoft.com slaps a new search tool and site guide on the site for those using Internet Explorer, but Firefox users get stiffed with a "We're sorry, the page you requested could not be found" error message.

Microsoft.com's preview -- available here for IE users -- includes a box labeled "Microsoft Site Guide" in the upper right that includes a search field and one-click access to several of the Redmond, Wash. developer's most popular destinations, including "Software and Services," "Download & Trials," and "Security."

Firefox users, however, are redirected to Microsoft's generic "page not found" message and screen.

Some users commenting on the Bink.nu site -- Amsterdam-based Microsoft MVP Steven Bink posted a link to the preview Monday -- took the opportunity to jab Microsoft.

"Somebody is having a good day at Microsoft," wrote a user identified as "lsproc."
