Music fans can now get direct access to Napster's complete song library from their Apple mobile devices thanks to a new app that the online service has released for iTunes.

The Napster app gives users unlimited access to Napster's catalog of more than 10 million songs, for $10 per month.

"You can save songs, playlists, and albums to your iPhone to enjoy when not connected and listen while you run other apps," Napster said in a statement on its Web site. The app will also stream pre-selected playlists, let users save the 100 songs most recently played, and automatically build mixes based on their input.

The Napster app is a free, 1.8 MB download from Apple's iTunes service or App Store. It's compatible with iPad, iPod touch, and iPhones running Apple iOS 3.0 or later.

Napster is just the latest available add-on for Apple's mobile devices. Last week the company announced the pending availability of a new service called AirPrint, which allows users to print directly to a wireless printer via a Wi-Fi connection, without the need for special software or drivers.

AirPrint is built into iOS 4.2, which was released in beta form several days ago and will be available to the general public in November. Hewlett-Packard's line of ePrint-enabled printers, including existing and future models, will be the first to support AirPrint.

AirPrint compatible computers include models in HP's Photosmart, Officejet, Officejet Pro, and Laserjet Pro lines. Apple shares were up 2.97%, to $283.55, in late-day trading Monday on the tech-heavy NASDAQ exchange.
