Google Provides Tools To Drop Maps Into Web Sites

Google recently posted some tutorials that teach Web developers how to insert Google Maps into company Web sites. The tutorials cover the basics and more advanced features, such as using Google Earth APIs, to improve mapping interaction.According to Google, the company is often asked by small and large business owners alike how they can add Google Maps to their own Web sites. In response, Google has set up two tutorials that make it pretty darned simple to drop Maps just about anywhere you might wish.

The "Quick and Simple" tools are for beginners and basic Web sites. They provide step-by-step instructions for plotting one or more locations on a map and embedding that map into a Web site.

The "Advanced" tools are for developers and advanced Web sites. Going beyond simple plotting, they demonstrate various ways to manipulate a map and add business-specific content. Developers will also be able to compare between the different Google Maps APIs.

In looking at the tools, the quick and simple tutorial is easy for pretty much anyone to follow. Pictures and graphics accompany all the directions, and demonstrate exactly what you'll need to do to insert a map to any Web site.
