Location Awareness
At the recent Google I/O conference, Google demonstrated its Latitude friend-finding service within the iPhone 3.0's Safari browser. This means the new version of Safari supports the W3C geo-location API, which makes it able to determine the location of the user. This can lead to a lot of interesting usage scenarios.
Video Chat
The possibility of video chat on the iPhone is intriguing, but not probable. Even so, a promotional poster from network operator Fido shows off a new iPhone with a "iChat Video Calling" feature listed. Is this enough to confirm the existence of such a feature? Hardly.
Various Models
This report has a little bit more foundation in reality. Yesterday, Engadget reported that a trusted source says the new iPhone will come in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models. That's at least four different versions. I have a hard time believing that Apple will resurrect the 4GB model. It killed the original 4GB iPhone off mere months after launch, as most customers chose the higher-capacity 8GB model instead. But, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for Apple to offer the 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models.
Perhaps we'll find out next Monday, during the keynote address at Apple's WWDC.
