MSN's eShop mall is adding round-the-clock live customer-service agents to offer help and advice in choosing among the wares offered by its 75 merchants. Gift Concierge representatives can answer questions and help find specific items in eShop's 10 gift guides, including Kid-Gift-o-Matic, Deck the Halls, or Sexy Santa.
MSN eShop also offers help in the form of Top 10 lists of the hottest-selling products, reviews by consumers and in-house experts, a Bargain Center for easy access to discounted items, and side-by-side comparison shopping. Based on text-messaging software, the new Gift Concierge service requires a single click, with no downloading of additional software.
MSN also has unveiled an incentive program for customers who use its Microsoft Passport "wallet" to pay for their purchases: either 20% off a current or a future purchase, or free shipping.
