New CA Products Ease Data Flow Between Businesses
Computer Associates' new interBiz Solutions divisionunveiled a flurry of new products yesterday, including a
beta version of its BizWorks business management framework
and updates for supply-chain and financial services
applications. The BizWorks framework, based on CA technology
such as its Jasmine object database, is intended to help
connect applications and information sources to facilitate
data flow across a corporation, as well as between
businesses.
The framework can use CA's Neugent (Neural Learning Agent)
technology to analyze the information traveling through the
business to spot weaknesses in a supply chain and predict
business events. InterBiz president Reuven Battat says the
framework will be ready sometime in early 2000. Pricing is
not set, but will involve a basic framework at a modest
price with add-on applications and services at higher
prices.
One new CA application is interBureau, based on the
Masterpiece/Net financial applications suite from CA's
Prestige Software International unit, which will let
financial institutions offer services over the Web. The Bank
Performance Management suite, from the interBiz Banking
Group, will help banks measure profitability.
The interBiz Supply Chain Group, meanwhile, has introduced
an Internet order entry product, a report writer, a general
ledger system offering support for multinational and
multidivision enterprises, an advanced scheduler, and a
workflow automation tool.
