Broadcast.com Inc. and Level 3 Communications Inc. plan tomake streaming media affordable for the masses.

Broadcast.com will be able to use the newLevel 3 network--which is based on IP and fibre technologyand allows access to unlimited amounts of bandwidth--inaddition to the traditional networks it obtains frombackbone providers for transmitting broadband content.Broadcast.com says this will result in reduced bandwidthcosts associated with Web media services such as Internetbroadcasts and seminars, live audio, and videotransmissions.
