Cell Phones Dirtier Than Toilets

An article appearing in the UK newspaper, The Daily Mail, points out that cell phones are a perfect breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria, and typically have "tens of thousands of microbes living on each square inch."

The reason is that they come in constant contact with our hands, faces and mouths -- in fact are exposed to more bodily bacteria than toilet seats -- and then are kept warm by the electronics inside.These cell phone bacteria include "Staphylococcus aureus, which can cause illnesses from pimples and boils to pneumonia and meningitis and is a close relative of the superbug MRSA," according to the article.

Maybe it's time we start putting condoms on our cell phones? Just a thought.
