Microsoft on Tuesday, Oct. 11, will address a total of 23 security vulnerabilities in its products, with two patches rated "critical", according to an advance notification.
The critical patches fix remote code execution vulnerabilities in .NET Framework, Silverlight, Windows, and Internet Explorer.
Microsoft rated six other security notifications as important. Four are remote code execution patches for Windows and Forefront Unified Access Gateway; one addresses elevation of privilege for Windows; and one provides a denial-of-service fix for Host Integration Server.
The Microsoft Security Response Center said in a blog post that a total of 23 vulnerabilities will be patched.
To address customer questions on the security bulletins, Microsoft will host a webcast on Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. PST. The webcast will be available on demand after the 12th.
