But within the profession, employees with information-management and data-security titles average only $91,470, compared with chief privacy officers' $122,360. That's according to a survey of 207 privacy professionals conducted by the Ponemon Institute. Industry and company size affect salaries. Privacy folks in health care generally earn 10% to 15% below their counterparts in financial-services and other industries.
