Overview:

While they've got a long way to go, women are finally starting to make some headway in Fortune 500 companies. The 24 female Fortune 500 CEOs represents only about 5 percent, but it is a record. More women are finding themselves in leadership positions and in board rooms. Now that they're getting to lead important questions arise: can women lead without just "being one of the boys?" What does it look like to lead and be a woman at the same time? We'll answer those questions and more Wednesday, April 15th at 3PM ET on the latest episode of IT Life radio.

Those also happen to be some of the questions Debora McLaughlin answers in Running in High Heels: How to Lead with Influence, Impact, and Ingenuity. Debora will draw on her years as a leader, an executive coach, and her interviews with female CEOs to talk about what female leadership looks like. In our episode we'll discuss:

  • Whether there are differences in the way men and women lead and how that changes the enterprise.
  • What leadership lessons women and men can learn from female CEOs
  • The best leadership lessons available from an experience executive coach

Debora McLaughlin is the best-selling author of “The Renegade Leader: 9 Success Strategies Driven Leaders Use to Ignite People, Performance and Profits.” Her new book, “Running in High Heels: How to Lead with Influence, Impact & Ingenuity,” is a how-to leadership companion for women in business. She is CEO of The Renegade Leader Coaching and Consulting Group.

Woman or man, if you are a leader this show is a must listen. Tune in April 15th at 3PM ET.
