Resonate Intros Web Server Performance-
Management App

Resonate Inc. launched a Web server performance-managementapplication yesterday that detects, diagnoses, and fixesnetwork and system level issues before they interfere withthe end user's access to Web applications.

Resonate Commander extends the load-balancing functions ofthe company's earlier Dispatch products to include multitierapplication monitoring and historical reporting for findingusage trends.

Commander consists of individual software modules fortracking, reporting, and controlling Web server activity.The application includes a policy engine that providessystem administrators with a simple way to set specificactions that need to be taken if a particular event occurs.For instance, the Commander application can redirect trafficto a backup server if one of the servers becomes overtaxed.The Resonate product takes in information from and respondsto both Resonate's flagship Dispatch load-balancingapplications and management systems from BMC and Tivoli.The application starts at $25,000 and ships in April.
