Sales-Lead Software Vendor IDs Browsing Customers
Proficient Systems, a startup that sells software that identifies potential customers as they browse company Web sites and notifies online sales associates of their presence, closed on an additional $3 million, bringing its Series B funding total to $9 million.
New investor GIMV, in Belgium, led the funding round. Other investors include Labrador Ventures and private investor Michel Akkermans, CEO of E-payment company Clear2Pay. Akkermans will join Proficient's board.
Proficient, which shipped its software in April, sells mainly to services vendors, including financial-services and insurance providers. Proficient says it closed about $500,000 in new business in this year's second quarter.
