SAP yesterday unveiled Continuous Business Improvement (CBI), a program designed to help companies keep track of evolving business and technology practices to stay in step or ahead of their competition.
The CBI offering is the first leg of SAP's new ValueSAP initiative, which is designed to support customers through the process of ERP evaluation, implementation, and business optimization. CBI expands the company's original sales pitch--that ERP technology will help users cut costs and save money--to "value generation" after the technology is implemented. CBI services will measure SAP users' key performance indicators, total cost of ownership, ROI studies, and benchmarks, and compare them with industry averages and industry leaders. SAP will then make recommendations to customers on how to improve on their processes or how to better take advantage of opportunities.
CBI services will be offered on a limited basis throughout the summer, with general availability scheduled for September. SAP said it will begin integrating its partners into the ValueSAP program this summer.
