Siebel Systems Inc. said today it has acquired a training company, The 20-20 Group Ltd., in an effort to ease customers' implementations. The front-office vendor bought the privately held company for an undisclosed sum.
The companies have worked together since 1996, with The 20-20 Group offering training for Siebel applications to Siebel end users. Siebel also has offered training through other partners. The difference now is that Siebel says customers have asked it to be more directly involved with training.
More closely integrated training will ensure that more users are able to understand and use the software, making implementations smoother--at least on the cultural side. "Our implementations aren't going to be successful unless people are actually using the product," a spokeswoman says.
The 20-20 Group, which deals only with front-office training, offers such programs as instructor-led training, computer-based training, theme development and implementation, travel logistics management, and documentation support.
