Documentum Debuts Process Management Application

Documentum introduced business process management software that combines existing elements of the company's content management technology with several new process-related components.
The BPM product is designed to allow users to pull together content from varied data sources and integrate it into business processes, including processes built around non-Document applications such as enterprise resource planning systems, customer relationship management packages and product lifecycle management applications.
The product includes process integration services, a visual environment for defining processes, a graphical tool for making XML-based electronic forms, collaborative workspaces, and other capabilities that stem from the product's integration with Documentum's content management platform.
Several existing Documentum customers have deployed the BPM application, the company said. Its general availability was announced Tuesday.
Documentum is a division of $6.2 billion storage systems company EMC, which acquired Documentum late last year.
