EDS Lands $100 Million In Contracts

The deals are for IT and business-process-outsourcing services with financial-services institutions.

EDS on Tuesday disclosed contracts worth $100 million for IT and business-process-outsourcing services with financial-services institutions in Europe and the United States.

The deals include an eight-year mainframe-hosting agreement with a new customer, Banca Popolare Di Sondrio, a 191-branch bank in Italy; multiple contracts with the California State Automobile Association, including a nine-year add-on agreement for hosting services in EDS's Sacramento Service Management Center; and a five-year extended agreement with Société Générale to modernize, standardize, and support 15,000 workstations and 6,000 printers, plus provide telecommunications services for 20,000 users.

EDS recently disclosed a five-year deal with the National Clearing House under which EDS will provide check-imaging systems to enable Clearing House member banks to adapt to the recently signed Check 21 law, which permits banks to transmit images of checks in lieu of the paper originals.
