PeopleSoft Expands Linux Support

PeopleSoft Inc. says the next version of its EnterpriseOne suite would support Linux from Red Hat Inc.

PeopleSoft Inc. on Wednesday said the next version of its EnterpriseOne suite would support Linux from Red Hat Inc.

The Pleasanton, Calif., business software maker said customers would be able to used Linux in running a variety of EnterpriseOne applications, including those for human resources, financial activities and supply chain, supplier relationship, asset and project management.

“PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne support for Red Hat Linux is a direct response to increased customer demand and our commitment to giving customers greater choice,” said Jesper Andersen, group vice president and general manager for PeopleSoft tools and technology.

Support for Red Hat Linux will be available in the second quarter with the release of EnterpriseOne 8.1. PeopleSoft's Enterprise family of applications currently support Linux.
