PeopleSoft Finishes Some Integration Work With J.D. Edwards Apps
The enterprise software vendor is offering integration packs for a number of apps, including inventory and management, HR, and financial and real estate.
PeopleSoft Inc. has completed integration between several of its and J.D. Edwards & Co.'s applications, just four months after completing the $1.8 billion acquisition. The enterprise software vendor this week began offering integration packs between order- and inventory-management applications, sourcing and procurement apps, human-resources and financial-management apps, general-ledger apps, capital-asset-management and financial-management apps, and real estate-management and financial-management apps. "'This is a proof point that we've gotten our teams together," says Rick Bergquist, chief technology officer at PeopleSoft.
The integration packs, available now, are designed to let customers take advantage of a broader range of capabilities available in PeopleSoft Enterprise (formerly PeopleSoft 8) and EnterpriseOne (formerly J.D. Edwards 5). Now, for example, customers using PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Real Estate Management can leverage a connection with PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management to automatically populate financial systems with transactional data from their real-estate contracts.
"The entries in the real-estate system can feed the financial applications," Bergquist says. "And that functionality can come out of the box. Integration is one of the highest-cost items for IT departments. Having prebuilt integration helps to lower the cost."
