This month Pilot Software announced a partnership with the Performance Measurement Group (PMG) to provide PMG’s industry-standard Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model metrics within PilotWorks, its performance management software. This will enable companies to track and manage supply chain performance within PilotWorks. They can review operational performance from both their own internal view and an industry-based external perspective, exchanging real-time industry benchmarks associated with the SCOR metrics with PMG and its clients.

In the past, to use benchmark intelligence derived from the SCOR model, companies had to develop and implement customized reporting solutions or use spreadsheets. These methods added complexity and discontinuity to overall performance management. With this new implementation, Pilot Software has raised the bar for operations management by making it easier for managers to combine SCOR metrics with Balanced Scorecard metrics. Ventana Research recommends that companies seeking to improve their operational performance management processes by measuring against the SCOR model on an ongoing basis consider this offering.
