The update is designed to let IT managers integrate reporting functionality into Linux applications. Business Objects made Version 10 compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, partly as a result of a joint development agreement the BI firm arranged with IBM. The two companies have undertaken a series of joint BI-related agreements.
The Version 10 suite, which made its initial debut in January, will run on IBM's xSeries servers for Linux. Business Objects plans to collaborate with IBM on marketing the software.
Separately, Business Objects introduced software designed to give insight into financial operations and help companies manage performance. The product, called Finance Intelligence, includes analytic modules for compliance management, cashflow analysis, company cost structures, statement metrics and ratios.
The two software packages are available immediately.
