Indicative Software is shipping a new release of its IT service management software that expands the scope of the tool's monitoring capabilities to SAP and Microsoft .Net applications and offers enhanced troubleshooting and reporting capabilities.

Indicative monitors application performance from the user point of view, rather than focusing on the performance of the infrastructure IT--which may or may not directly impact users---as other system monitoring tools do. The software automatically manages service-level agreements and captures application performance metrics for analysis.

The new release, Indicative 7.5, can monitor the performance the SAP and Microsoft .Net applications, as well as applications running on IBM's WebSphere application server. It also offers expanded monitoring capabilities for Oracle apps, says Product Marketing Director Larry Robinson.

Indicative 7.5 is also more closely integrated with other systems management tools from such vendors as BMC, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM. Indicative, for example, monitors alerts from those systems and helps IT managers determine which ones most directly impact users and so require immediate attention.

The new release provides test templates for more IT devices and environments, as well as improved troubleshooting capabilities such as configurable system health-status propagation. It also offers data reporting in tabular format and prepackaged outage and usage reporting. Pricing starts around $100,000.
