JasperSoft Offers Business Intelligence On MySQL Database
JasperSoft launches a suite of reporting tools for the open-source database.
JasperSoft on Tuesday launched a suite of operational reporting tools for the open-source database built by MySQL AB.
The Jasper for MySQL: OEM Edition is a software suite that includes an interactive report server, a graphical report creation tool, and a reporting system with dashboards, tables, cross tabs and charts.
In addition, JasperSoft and MySQL AB signed a joint reseller agreement in which the latter company would offer the new suite to its commercial independent software vendor and original equipment manufacturer customers. In return, JasperSoft agreed to resell MySQL's database as part of JasperSoft's open-source business intelligence suite.
Network security vendor Enterasys Networks uses Jasper for MySQL as an embedded graphical analyzer for managing and analyzing data in server and intrusion detection logs. Ko Baryiames, director of network management at Enterasys, said in a joint statement with the other two vendors that the new product delivers "easy integration, a robust library, and a low total cost of implementation."
Jasper for MySQL is available from MySQL AB for a starting price of $195 per server.
