Pirtek Fluid Systems, an Australian manufacturer and distributor of fluid transfer solutions, has selected the HighJump Supply Chain Advantage suite to optimize its manufacturing and distribution operations. HighJump Software, a 3M company, is a global provider of adaptable supply chain execution (SCE) solutions. Pirtek will implement HighJump Manufacturing Advantage and HighJump Warehouse Advantage in its new Sydney facility to support rapid company growth and expanding product lines.

According to an announcement by HighJump Software, Pirtek selected HighJump Software because its full set of adaptable supply chain execution solutions aligned with Pirtek's operational needs and long-term technology strategy. In addition, HighJump Software's growing presence in Australia, where four systems have recently been implemented, gave Pirtek the assurance of solid, long-term support. Implementing HighJump Manufacturing Advantage alongside HighJump Warehouse Advantage is intended to create a truly seamless flow of accurate, real-time demand and supply information throughout Pirtek's operations.

Pirtek distributes products to 70 franchised retail and service centers throughout Australia. Its product line ranges from pallets of spooled hose to small metal fittings and adapters. Pirtek receives finished goods ready for shipment to its franchises, as well as subassembly components used to manufacture complete fluid transfer systems shipped directly to large customers.

The HighJump solutions will integrate with a multilevel conveyor and Pirtek's ERP system. The ERP system will process work orders and communicate with the appropriate HighJump solution regarding next steps for either fulfillment or production. HighJump Manufacturing Advantage will optimize Pirtek's shop floor production processes by coordinating assembly and test operations and maintaining full quality traceability records for each system produced. After production, HighJump Warehouse Advantage will direct picking, packing and shipping activities. Pirtek's item variety requires complex rules to be applied during the final stages of distribution to minimize the cost associated with daily store shipments.
