Systems-Management Vendor Hyperic Incorporates JasperSoft Reporting Tools

The new Hyperic HQ Enterprise Reports, a part of Hyperic HQ 3.1, provides a graphical report designer and a Java reporting library that enables creation of complex layouts.

Hyperic on Monday said it has integrated JasperSoft's reporting tools into its flagship software for open-source systems management.

The new Hyperic HQ Enterprise Reports, a part of Hyperic HQ 3.1, provides a graphical report designer and a Java reporting library that enables creation of complex layouts, as well as simpler reports. The software was built using JasperStudio graphical report designer for JasperReports, which is JasperSoft's open source reporting software.

HQ Enterprise Reports also includes pre-built reports on availability and resource utilization. Reports can be exported in a variety of formats, including .pdf, .xls, .csv and .xml.

Online services companies use Hyperic HQ 3.1 to manage their systems as they add or modify applications and infrastructure. Customers include Hi5 Networks, EHarmony.com, and MyNewPlace.com. In addition, the software provides auto-discovery of more than 65 technologies. In addition to the new reporting capabilities, HQ 3.1 provides alerts to support teams.

The latest version of Hyperic HQ 3.1, which includes the new reporting tools, is available for download. Pricing was not disclosed.
