PlanView Launches IT Planning Tool

PlanView Inc. on Friday unveiled Enterprise Project Collaboration, an IT project- and portfolio-management system that integrates PlanView's own portfolio-management software with EMC Corp.'s Documentum eRoom, a Web-based collaborative workflow system.

The two products work together to combine structured project-portfolio-management tasks with unstructured collaboration processes, says Tod Klubnik, PlanView's senior VP of sales and business development, in a statement.

More than half of the 300 business-technology managers questioned in InformationWeek Research's Outlook For 2005 survey plan to increase their use of project-portfolio-management software, which boosts return on IT investments by linking projects with business performance goals.
