Salesnet Takes Hosted CRM To Small-Business Level

The vendor slims down its CRM service for that market and adds integration services for larger clients.
Salesnet next week will bring its hosted customer-relationship-management service to small businesses and early next month will partner with AptSoft Corp. to offer integration services to large customers that need to connect sales-force functionality to other systems, including Web sites, service centers, and back-office and campaign-management software.

"Enterprise-class customers want integration," says Dan Starr, Salesnet's chief marketing officer. AptSoft will provide pre-built adapters, taking advantage of Web services and application programming interfaces to keep integration costs down. AptSoft will charge a per-user monthly fee for each integration.

Salesnet's monthly software fees range from $14.95 per user for up to 10 users of its new Express Edition for small businesses to $99 per user. The Express package is a slightly slimmed-down version of its hosted offering that includes the company's best-practice sales-process workflows and the ability to track contacts from lead to close, as well as generate forecasts and monitor the sales pipeline in real time.

The company says it's able to keep costs low because its software is built on a pure-play hosted model, running one instance of configurable code to enable high levels of scalability without dramatic increases in total cost of ownership. Next week it also plans to unveil a slew of other partnerships, including one with Qualté Inc., an online customer-service vendor, and interactive agent software vendor ActiveBuddy Inc. Salesnet and ActiveBuddy will partner to offer a wireless CRM system that takes advantage of instant messaging to speed the sales process.
