When transforming a giant tech company rooted in the hardware business into one focused on software and applications, it helps to build a community. At HP Enterprise -- one of two companies formed from the split of Hewlett-Packard -- Lisa-Marie Namphy is all about community. In her role as Developer Advocate and Community Architect, Namphy works toward unifying HPE's developers. At the same time, she is a champion of women, aiming to shatter the glass ceiling at a number of different tech firms. Namphy spoke with InformationWeek Senior Editor Sara Peters about her work at HPE.

Women in IT
All the conversation in the industries around women in IT seems to be creating a wave of opportunities for female talent. I recently talked to women at Intel and UPS, for example, and they mentioned both companies have created spaces for their female employees to advance career, and also to attract more female talent. It looks like in the years to come we are going to see some changes in IT with more women getting on board.
