Sign of culture
One true sign of a solid data driven culture is the excitement around pushing the envelope in what the team is able to accomplish with the data at its disposal. While I often encourage organizations to start small and continue to build off successes, its crucial that they go outside their comfort level with each step. This not only expands what the team is able to accomplish, it consistently boosts excitement over time.

Regarding the culture
Very aptly put. The culture of 'data-driven" business has to be championed by executives both top down and grass root levels. Historically large organizations have been holding the data hostage in applications it is high time they change the mindset and manage data as enterprise asset.

Most of the CEO/CFO/CIO etc are relying on historical datas or statical datas before arriving a crucial decision. Nobody wants to take any risks or wrong decision; especially in terms of investments. Such datas can be like a pointer; if they analyze and used properlly
