Sun, Microsoft Invest In BroadBand Office
Sun Microsystems and Microsoft each invested $25 million in BroadBand Office Inc., a vendor of high-speed Internet services for businesses, the companies said today.
BroadBand Office, launched in July and backed by venture capitalist Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Beyers, plans to use Sun servers, storage, and infrastructure software. Microsoft will supply software for BroadBand's messaging, E-commerce, and application-hosting services.
BroadBand Office, based in Falls Church, Va., supplies small and midsize companies with Internet access, telephone service, virtual private networks, and Web-site hosting.
