Sun To Provide Lowdown On Portal Server
Sun Microsystems this week will provide more details on its Sun One Portal Server 6.0 and the vision it's been trumpeting for months: that an Internet infrastructure can deliver data and applications to anyone, anytime. Built on Java 2 Enterprise Edition and Web services, the software can leverage single sign-on and role-based access controls. It will ship in August, will work with BEA WebLogic and IBM WebSphere by year's end, and will support Linux and Windows 2000 by mid-2003.
