CompTIA, OnForce Team For Membership Benefits, Training

The agreement allows contract professionals, who make up OnForce's community of more than 12,000 people, to earn several certifications.
The Computing Technology Industry Association and OnForce, a marketplace for IT service professionals, have teamed up to train and certify more than 12,000 IT technicians.

CompTIA announced this month that it will work with OnForce on several programs to improve IT professionals' skills and help them expand business.

"CompTIA certifications provide IT workers with internationally recognized, respected credentials that validate their technical proficiency and professionalism," Richard Rysiewicz, VP of services for CompTIA, said in the announcement. "We are extremely pleased to be working with OnForce to further build on the strong skills and qualifications their service professionals already have."

The agreement allows contract professionals, who make up OnForce's community of more than 12,000 people, to earn several CompTIA certifications and access CompTIA membership services. Certifications cover networking, security, and server skills.

"CompTIA is the industry standard for technology education and certifications, so they were the ideal partner for OnForce in providing our community with best-in-class learning opportunities," Jose Bernal, senior VP of business development at OnForce, said in the announcement. "As more VARs and solution providers are utilizing contract IT talent, access to advanced training is critical for service professionals."

Peter Manni, VP of Siemens IT Solutions and Services, said that when his company seeks contract service professionals, they want to ensure that they chose the best possible candidates to deal with Siemens' clients.

"One way we do that, especially through our partners at OnForce, is to make sure the engineers are CompTIA-certified," he said in the announcement.
