AMD reported third-quarter net income of $134 million, up 76% from a year ago, while revenue dropped 11% to $1.3 billion. ...

IBM's revenue rose 5% to $22.6 billion in its third quarter. Software sales were up 8%, fueled by 30% growth in WebSphere. IBM, ever so humble, credits its middleware with accelerating the emergence and acceptance of service- oriented architectures.
