Transaction Record Set

Oracle and Hewlett-Packard have set a world-record Transaction Processing Council benchmark of 1,184,893.38 transactions per minute on a cluster of HP Integrity servers running Linux. The record was achieved using Oracle Database 10g and HP Integrity rx5670 servers running Intel Itanium 2 processors and Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0. Last week's result came not long after the recent world-record single-system benchmark announcement by Oracle and HP--the first result to surpass 1 million transactions per minute with the Transaction Processing Council's TPC-C benchmark.
