TSI To Offer Business-To-Business Integration Software

Enterprise application integration vendor TSI Software Inc. will unveil today the first fruits of its acquisition of application server vendor Novera Software Inc.--an integration product that helps link businesses over the Internet.

The company will roll out in the first quarter of next year its business-to-business integration broker, the combination of Novera's application server and TSI's Mercator EAI software. The new product will transform data from legacy systems and packaged application platforms such as SAP and PeopleSoft into Extended Markup Language (XML), which will make it simpler for businesses to share information with trading partners, customers, and suppliers. It will also transform XML into other data formats at either end of the transaction.

Customers welcome the new product. Seals GmbH, a spin-off of Lufthansa AirPlus that acts as an intermediary between trading partners, is already using TSI's software to help its customers move invoices over the Internet to their partners and customers. But the company says the new integration capabilities will make the process both simpler and more flexible. "Today, somebody has to define in advance what kind of format you want to receive information in. With that product, he can choose it as he receives the information," says Marcus Laube, CEO of the Frankfurt, Germany, company.

In addition to its XML support, the new broker can use the application server capabilities to create an Internet interface to any application or service. It will also support security measures such as authentication and encryption. TSI will announce pricing for the product when it ships.
