Apple Computer Corp. said Tuesday it will have the new iPod shuffle digital music player in stores Nov. 3.
When the new compact design was announced in mid-September, Apple said it would make the device available in October.
About half the size of the original shuffle, the new half-cubic inch iPod contains 1 GB of flash memory that holds up to 240 songs. It weighs half an ounce and features an aluminum design with built-in clip, making small enough to wear.
The shuffle offers up to 12 hours of battery life and is based on Apple's shuffle feature that lets music fans serve up a continuous mix of their favorite songs anywhere they go. The iPod lets users enjoy songs randomly, or flip a switch to listen to songs in order.
Connect the iPod shuffle to a Mac or a PC with the included dock, and the iTunes AutoFill feature syncs songs from their music library.
The new wearable shuffle is priced at $79.
