In response to carriers’ needs, White Rock Networks has developed a “building-block” product family of optical networking products for the metro infrastructure. The company’s building-block products benefit carriers by allowing them to deploy equipment that matches their capacity plans. In addition, White Rock’s products allow carriers to rapidly introduce new features and capabilities without interrupting network operations. White Rock’s low-cost, low-power, easy-to-implement, best-of-breed products will increase profitability for carriers, while transmitting information quickly and efficiently in a metropolitan area.
White Rock Networks’ building-block product family includes the industry’s smallest (standing only one rack unit high) SONET OC-48 add/drop multiplexer (ADM) – the VLX2010™. Another member of the White Rock family is the VLX2020™, the company’s SONET OC-192 ADM, which at only two rack units high is one-fifth the size of competitive multiplexers. White Rock recently enhanced the VLX2020 so that it supports full line-rate Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) sent over SONET. Future building-block products will support Coarse Dense Wavelength Multiplexing (CWDM) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM).
Based in the Telecom Corridor® in Richardson, Texas, White Rock Networks is in the heart of the telecom industry’s development activity. The company currently has more than 200 employees.
