Whitepaper: The Public Policy of Wireless Broadband Access: Recommendations for Reform to Promote Universal Service

As the world progress further into the Information Age, people are increasingly concerned with the speed and accessibility of information services. The dial-up modems of yesterday have since been replaced by high-speed broadband connections such as cable, Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL), and fiber. Consumers across the globe are demanding higher throughput, converged services, and increased mobility. This paper aims at both identifying some of the barriers to market entry of the high-speed services mentioned above and making recommendations about how these barriers can be broken down to allow for faster integration of the wireless technologies that are currently available.
