Mainframes are a critical component of the hybrid IT infrastructure and remain the most secure
platform for housing mission-critical data. However, Mainframes are not completely impervious to security
threats. Mainframes are connected to a diverse digital ecosystem, which has made them a lot more
susceptible to security risks than they were just a few years ago. The assumption that Mainframes are
already secure and thus can be excluded from the broader enterprise security mission is misguided and
Some organizations with a Mainframe may not be prepared for today's risk or regulatory environment, much less for meeting the demands of the modern consumer. In this survey, we find out how malicious insiders and careless or negligent users pose a major threat to Mainframe security at some organizations.
