On this week's BYTE Wireless Radio show, Craig Johntson and Fritz Nelson talk about Amazon's forthcoming $199 Android tablet, called the Kindle Fire, coming in mid November, sporting a brand-new distributed web browser called Silk and a variety of Amazon content services, all in a 7-inch, no frills piece of hardware. Already we're hearing that customers are lining up--the Kindle Fire's pre-orders make it Amazon's top-selling gadget right now.

Of course next week Apple is holding a big event where the company is expected to announce its much-anticipated (and what isn't from Apple these days) iPhone5. Besides running iOS5 and having a faster, dual-core processor, what else does new CEO Tim Cook have in store for us?

Finally, Microsoft began shipping the latest version of Windows Phone 7, dubbed Mango, and as its fortune's rise, it seems RIM's are falling -- there were even rumors that the company was halting BlackBerry Playbook production (something RIM has vehemently denied).

Tune in for this, and more.
