TECH STOCKS: Slightly Off For The Week

Tech stocks fared the best, with heavy-hitters such as Microsoft and Yahoo seeing small to modest gains in value.

Stocks closed barely above flat on the eve of the Memorial Day weekend but were off slightly for the week.

Tech stocks fared the best, with heavy-hitters such as Microsoft and Yahoo seeing small to modest gains in value. The InformationWeek 100 closed up 1.39 points, or 0.61%, at 228.98 Friday, but was down 0.39% for the week. The Nasdaq index closed up 2.45 points, or 0.17%, but was down 1.8% for the week. The Nasdaq-100 Index tracking stock was unmoved at $28.09, but was down 2% for the week.

The Dow Jones barely moved Friday, closing up 7.36 points, or 0.09%, but was down 0.9% for the week. The S&P 500 was up 1.35 points for the day, or 0.14%, yet closed down 1.1% for the week.
