Mobile device management is becoming an increasingly crowded category. So crowded, in fact, that companies are even taking different approaches to the problem--instead of setting up a few simple policies and enforcing them centrally, some are creating corporate app store models, others are virtualizing the phone (one mobile virtual machine for personal use, one for enterprise use), and still others are focusing less on the device and more on the applications.

One company that has emerged as a strong player among the third-party MDM stalwarts (a list that includes Good Technology, MobileIron, and Airwatch, for example), is Zenprise. It claims that device management is merely table stakes, and that the real value comes from enabling businesses to embrace mobile by balancing compliance on the back end with a full, native mobile experience on the front end.

In the video embedded below, Zenprise CMO Ahmed Datoo provides a demonstration of both sides of that equation: namely a view of the back-end dashboard and policy-creation tools within the Zenprise system, and then an example of the result on the end-user side.
