@batye    You are right, it seems like it takes far too long to come to agreement within the industry on standards.  I wish the process went faster, but I understand the reasons for the delays.

@ Technocrati

Haha. I find myself being cynical about situations or people quite often. I often have to remind myself to be optimistic, even if its hard to do.

Yes, first we have to change ourselves. But as they say, one person can change the world...one good deed at a time. Meaning that, you may not be able to change the whole world...but you can change the world for someone or even for yourself.

@StaceyE, I could not agree more, but it up to us to change ourself... it like self-improvment one day at a time :) life is to short...

@zerox203    I see what you are saying however I was bringing myself up to speed on NFV recently and apparently for this to work effectively, standards need to be  in place as well - their answer ?

Base everything off of the x86 architecture, this will allow for universal communication proponents argue - I wonder if the same sort of solution is the answer for IoT ?

It is the best option I have heard so far,  but you have to have at least the major players  agree and conform to it otherwise we have the situation we are discussing now.

IT's Reputation: What the Data Says
InformationWeek's IT Perception Survey seeks to quantify how IT thinks it's doing versus how the business really views IT's performance in delivering services - and, more important, powering innovation. Our results suggest IT leaders should worry less about whether they're getting enough resources and more about the relationships they have with business unit peers.
