The rush to mobility, while surely a good thing for productivity and employee retention, needs to be done with care. Enterprise managed devices give users a false sense of security about everything they do on smartphones and tablets. However, security is rapidly evolving, and many applications installed on mobile devices ignore security completely.

Most worrysome is the fact that voice and text messages, something government users often consider "secured by the enterprise" or simply know little about, is easily intercepted by equipment costing <$2000. Two dozen plus vendors have solutions to protect SBU voice and text communications yet decision makers and policy are way too far behind this very real risk.
