headed in the right direction
Good overview of all the things Intel has done in the last year to get itself pointed in the right direction. I think the IoT applications will become a big deal over time, and the new Atom chips give them a chance to win some of the low-end tablet makers back from ARM. Still a lot of work to be done, but they're off to a good start.

while the decline of the PC appears to be accelerating

If we are to believe your fellow blogger Mark Lee, and some analysts he quotes, the desktop is due for a resurgence in a few years' time as corporate refresh cycles come around and workers decide they want tablet + desktop, not tablet + laptop.

Intel's course correction
It's good to hear that Intel is moving in the right direction -- and the embedded and wearable markets seems likely to offer a fair amount of opportunities as the x86 era comes to a close. Curious to know, Jim, what AMD is doing in these markets. And are there any other upstarts to watch out for.
