Exadata (based on Oracle RAC) uses a shared-data architecture that inherently more "virtualizable" than shared-nothing databases. See more on DBMS virtualization at http://bitly.com/TUdScD

A new feature of Oracle is "pluggable" databases. This article may be referring to that, rather than "plausible" databases.
